Quietly carving out his place in the Toronto music scene, saxophonist Carson Freeman has cultivated a distinctive, in-demand style that has propelled him into the spotlight. Recognized as the 2010 Canadian Smooth Jazz Wind Instrumentalist of the Year, Freeman’s career has been marked by performing alongside Canadian icons including artists such as Michael Bublé, Corey Hart, Andy Kim, Nikki Yanofsky, and Gino Vanelli, as well as several Grammy winners and well-known international artists.

In 2011, Freeman received a MARTY Award nomination for Established Performing Artist, and in 2017, he became a key member of Canadian sensation Andy Kim’s band. He has also shared the stage with comedian Sinbad in live improv shows. Freeman’s musical contributions have been showcased numerous times on Canadian National Television, and he has had the honor of performing for past Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, as well as entertaining high-profile international celebrities such as Sarah Jessica Parker, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and teams like the Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Raptors.

In 2021, Carson established himself as a prominent figure in the Mississauga music scene, earning two nominations at the Mississauga Music AwardsMusician of the Year and Best New Group, alongside his twin brother, Curtis Freeman. In addition to his live performances, Carson has contributed his talents to several recordings and is currently working on his highly anticipated debut album. His latest project, The History of the Saxophone, is a captivating live show featuring his band, celebrating seven decades of iconic saxophone music.
